Off-Roading in Ruidoso

4/16/2020

Ruidoso, New Mexico (October 19, 2019) My daughter Jill and I spent four days sightseeing south-central New Mexico. Jill's a travel journalist, and this trip was an assignment.

This morning we went on an off-road adventure in Lincoln National Forest, courtesy of Lance Roe, owner of Backcountry Attitudes. I told Lance that I had never been off-roading. His advice: Be fearless in the pursuit of adventure!

I drove a Can-Am Maverick X3, with Jill as my passenger and Lance as our guide in another vehicle. We followed miles of dirt-packed trails over rocks and boulders as we climbed hills and mountains to a high plateau. There we saw a beautiful panoramic view.

Was I fearless? I like to think so, but whether I was or not, I had a blast!
