Jill and me at Godafoss Waterfall
Iceland (July 31 to August 9, 2024) Bill Bryson, an American-British journalist and author who has written many books on travel, once said…
I can't think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything. |
This was an apt description of me in Iceland, where I experienced the thrill of exploring unfamiliar places—and an unknown culture—and every encounter felt fresh and made me eager and excited to learn more about a land I knew little of!
In Reykjavik, Seydisfjordur, Akureyri, Isafjordur, and Grundarfjordur, I wandered through historic streets, explored top landmarks and attractions, marveled at natural wonders, and tasted the local cuisine. And through it all, I created great memories from scripted and unscripted moments to be lived over (and over) again.
My journey through Iceland—AKA the Land of Fire and Ice for its many volcanoes and glaciers—was a bucket list destination for many years, and now I can say, “My trip to Iceland was everything I hoped it would be…and more!”
I look forward to sharing my experiences and memories, and to perhaps inspire you to visit the Land of Fire and Ice.
