Debra and me aboard the Ruby Princess
Baja Peninsula, Mexico (February 29 to March 10, 2016) “Debra, it’s time to celebrate,” I said to my lovely wife of 42 years. “Let’s go on a cruise.”
You see, Debra had launched her first book, Bio-Touch: Healing With the Power in Our Fingertips, with a gala fete—a joyous gathering of friends and family—in October, and over the next couple of months, she maintained a busy schedule of book signings and talk shows.
“What do you have in mind?” she asked.
“I found a 10-day cruise on the Ruby Princess that includes a couple of ports we’ve not been to,” I answered. “Listen to this.”

“We’ll also have a day in San Diego,” I added.
Debra and I loved to cruise—we’d been on more than two dozen over the years. Why? We valued the all-inclusive experience—lodging, food, entertainment, and transportation between ports—and opportunity to visit multiple destinations in one trip.
“Sounds like fun!” Debra said. “Only…let’s take it easy.”
“Easy?” I asked.
“What I mean is a slower pace—more time relaxing, less time running around.”
“Ok…we’ll keep it simple,” I promised. “No excursions, no guided tours, and no scurrying about. We’ll explore each port on our own and at a pace you’re comfortable with.”
And with that, I booked our cruise with a midship balcony stateroom.
I read, Memories are the mind’s way of recording experiences, thoughts, and emotions that allow us to recall people, places, and events from our past.
My stories are about the memories we made—a handful of moments in time—aboard the Ruby Princess and in each port of call.
